VGO & CWC Update

November 29th, 2008

I’m checking out VGO at the moment and trying to figure out why the audio tracks & sounds seem to be causing the crashes (as well as certain sounds not being played, like the choppers, etc.).

I’ve updated CWC to build 490, and it has been uploaded to FileFront.  However, if you have the older install, you can download the updates from the CWC website, which makes more sense than downloading over 500MB worth of mod each time an update comes out.  To update your 496 build, you need to make sure you download all patches to 490 (download 495, 494, 493, etc.) and rename them from .cwc to .big.  Then manually copy the patche files to the Zero Hour Data folder.  Run the CWC launcher like you normally would and the game should recognize the patches without a problem.

Once I figure out what’s going on with VGO, I will check it against CWC & see if that solves the random crashing I’ve had with missions.  If so, I’ll update CWC to reflect the changes.  Sorry for the problems, but I’m working to fix them as fast as I can.

Update

November 19th, 2008

Time for an update.  I’ve been behind in keeping up with new releases (VGO & CWC come to mind…) but I’ve been extremely swamped.  I will try to update things over the upcoming holiday, and hopefully figure out why VGO and CWC have bugs in the Mac version that are not present in the PC version.  Without access to a version of Zero Hour that allows debugging, it’ll be difficult, but I’ll see what I can do.

Vietnam: Glory Obscured Released

September 2nd, 2008

VGO Pegasus v1.1 is now available for download.  For those unfamiliar with the mod, Vietnam: Glory Obscured is a total conversion that helps focus gameplay on infantry units, with naval, air and mobile units playing a supporting role.  VGO has been in development for a few years, and the Pegasus release includes the complete U.S. side, with the VC and NVA coming in later releases.  Download VGO.

CWC Updated to Build 496

August 24th, 2008

CWC was just updated to build 496.  The CWC team uses a descending build number to indicate newer builds, so 497 older than 496.  Due to how the mod is packaged, you will need to download the complete mod again.  If you have installed CWC previously, just copy the CWC.big file into your existing Cold War Crisis mod folder and replace the existing file.

Cold War Crisis Released

August 2nd, 2008

It’s my pleasure to announce that Cold War Crisis v1.0 (build 497) has been ported and is ready for download.  Over four years in the making, this amazing Zero Hour total conversion was just released last week.  Russia and USA face off in this mod that features high-quality graphics and textures, a custom-scored soundtrack, and professional voice-overs for both sides.  Play online, in skirmish mode against a powerful AI, or in the many missions available for both sides.  Ready?  Download Cold War Crisis.

Shockwave 0.951 Released

July 29th, 2008

Shockwave 0.951 has successfully been ported to the Mac.  Download the installer, click on the launcher and get ready to play a great Zero Hour mod that has plenty of new features to keep you entertained.  Shockwave 0.951 is a big jump from 0.93, and the changes and polishing to the mod can easily be seen.  New units (one of which makes up the new icon) are just the beginning, as the changelog from 0.93 to 0.951 is huge.  Download the mod and give it a try.

Downloads Added

July 28th, 2008

Previously ported Command & Conquer Generals downloads have been added to the downloads page on the right.  Cold War Crisis and Shockwave 0.951 are in the works and should be done soon.
